FUN, FUN, FUN - Had by All!

Our Great Portrait Workshop was a sold out, fun filled, and challenging weekend.  The three-day class included instruction on drawing the face, drawing from a live nude model, and explanation of limited palettes for flesh colors and painting the darks, middle tones, and highlights of a face.  Very hard working chickadees in this class, but lots of laughter and fun had by all.  Can't wait to do it again.

At Long Last.....

"Goddess of the Sea," oil, 30x80 - detail

At long last this painting is finished.  I enjoyed the process and am eager to show you the entire thing at my upcoming solo show: "Channeling Myself and other Goddesses" at Gallery 80808/Vista Studios.  The opening reception will be May 11, 5-9 pm.  Save the Date!

In the End

Summer has now ended.  Crisp air energizes and my paint brushes have been flying.  Look for new work posted soon.

Celebration!

Everything is just about back in order.  Unpacked, cleaned, rested, and played in the studio.  As I was going through the Piccolo Spoleto photos, this one stood out from the rest.  My husband, Robert, and I celebrate our wedding anniversary out in Marion Square each year.  Here he is holding my flowers, while I try to find something to put them in.  Priceless.  He's the best!
