I have had another change of direction. After doing several figurative works over the summer, landscapes are back on the easel for a while. Here's a small one to get me started.
Here is another demo from my Thursday class at Corley Mill Studio. This is a painting of my husband on the trail at Huntington Beach State Park. I love the feeling of scale caused by the large tree and the small figure.
Still working on hard on figurative work, but took a break to demonstrate to my classes at Corley Mill Artists' Group the joy of painting trees. I believe I convinced a few of them!
This is a transition piece for me. I have been doing landscapes for quite a while now. The transition to more figurative work is symbolized in this work. Be on the lookout for new and exciting things from me!
I have finished a group of big paintings in the last week. Here's another of them. I call this "Reflecting Sister Pond," because the trees look like sisters to me. Take a look at the "personalities" of the trees.
