Santee State Park

"Santee Welcome" 11x14, click image to enlarge

I was thoroughly inspired this year at Santee State Park.  Here are some of the studies I have done since coming home.  Two or three of these will make it to larger paintings.  Which ones do you think should make it to a big canvas?

Happy Artist

So happy to know that my art has been given such nice places to live.  Check this out:

Breech Inlet Sunrise

Here is a Plein Air sketch of Breech Inlet - the water between Sullivan's Island, SC and Isle of Palms, SC.  The sun rises here everyday to many locals and tourists soaking in the view.

Thank you for checking out my art.  I have had a lot of fun recently painting from life (not a photo).  It provides an urgency because of time constraints.  So, every brushstroke matters.  Vibrant and lively brushstrokes ensue - sometimes!  I love this one.

Sunny Harvest

It is fun to paint Sunflowers; I make sure to do so every year.

What a great day to be a South Carolinian.  The weather was perfect today.  This is a painting of my perfect place to paint:  Sullivan's Island, SC.
