Karen Appleton Workshop in Atlanta

Lucky me!  I went to the Karen Appleton workshop in Atlanta a while back and have been behind the easel every since.  She is very inspiring.  Here's some photos of the journey!

First stop - The High Museum in Atlanta to see this wonderful exhibit.

Following Karen Appleton's Blog inspired me to make the trip.
Find it here:  http://karenappleton.blogspot.com

Here is one of her paintings.  Awesome!  Yes, I'm a fan!

Workshop was given at the Kudzu Art Zone in Norcross, GA.  Excellent Facility.

Karen's Set Up

Demonstrations each day.
Karen's Palette
The Set up was nice.  Here's my spot.
Okay, so here are the paintings that I have painted since her workshop.  Some use her method, but my own methods slowly found their way back to the palette.  Truly enjoyed this experience.  Now to see where else what I have learned can be used in my work.

"Last One," 10x10, oil

"Cause for Celebration," 12x24, oil

"Especially for You," 12x12, oil

"Just Because," 8x8, oil

"Just What You Always Wanted," 12x15, oil

"Silver Lining," 20x20, oil

"Surcee 1," 4x4, oil
"Surcee 2," 4x6, oil

"Surprise," 8x8 oil

This is how a few were displayed at the "Gratitude" show at Gallery 80808 for the Vista Studios resident artist show during Vista Lights this year in Columbia, SC
